Departure from Marrakech

This day trip takes you right across the High Atlas mountains over the famous Tizi-n-Tichka pass, the tallest peak in the whole of Africa.

We will travel experiencing exotic landscapes along the mountains, where there are traditional Berber villages perched on the side of the mountains.

The difference between the two sides of the mountain are clearly visible: the North maintains a clear Mediterranean character, whilst the South is much more arid and Saharan. This is marked in the vegetation where the gardens are full of olives, walnuts, pomegranates, apples, pears and quinces.

This tour will focus on exploring the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou, which has been used as a backdrop for many Hollywood blockbusters. It was one of the most important fortress strongholds on the old Salt Road caravan routes.

After Lunch, we will head towards Ouarzazate to visit the city. From there we will return back to the Atlas Mountain route to reach Marrakech late afternoon.
