Tour Highlights

Ideal 4-day tour for adventurers that want to have a desert experience but also want to visit the magical locations of Ouarzazate and Ait Benhaddou, famously known for its appearances in Hollywood movies and series, such as ‘Game of Thrones’.

Departure from your hotel or airport in Marrakech, through the high altitude Tizi-n-Tichka pass in the High Atlas Mountains, where you will find a colourful landscape filled with Berber villages all the way. Our first day, will consist of a visit Ouarzazate and Ait Benhaddou to stay overnight in Todra Gorges or in the Kasbah of Tinghir.

The next two nights will be spent in a Nomadic Tent in the Merzouga Desert, where we will have camel rides to watch the sunset and sunrise in the famous large Erg Chebbi dunes. Similarly, we will also visit nearby areas like palm grove of Tafilalet, Draa valley and Telouet Kasbah.

On our way back, we will head again through the Atlas Mountains visiting local Berber villages and with plenty of opportunity to click pictures along the way.

Tour Itinerary

DAY 1: MARRAKECH - OUARZAZATE - TOUDRA GORGES (360 km)

Departure from Marrakech early in the morning towards the famous Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou crossing the High Atlas by the Tizi-n Tichka pass (2260 meters of altitude). The landscape in our route has its unique beauty with colourful and welcoming Berber villages in the side of the mountains.

When we arrive at Ouarzazate, we will eat lunch next to the historical Kasbah of Taourirt. Once there, we will head towards Rose Valley via Tinghir to reach Todra Gorges. An impressive location which has been used as a filming set for many films. We will have dinner and stay overnight in a Riad in the Todra gorges or in the Kasbah in Tinghir.
DAY 2: TOUDRA GORGES - TINEJDAD - ERFOUD . RISSANI - MERZOUGA (185 km)

Today we will rise early, have breakfast and head on our way to Toudra Gorges, where we will have plenty of opportunity to stop to click pictures and walk in the Gorges.

Furthermore, we will take the road via Tinjdad, Erfoud and Rissani, where we will stop for lunch in some Berber village before arriving at the Erg Chebbi dunes. On arrival, we will ride our camels and begin our journey through the dunes.

We will stop somewhere to enjoy the sunset scene. Once we arrive to our Nomadic Tents, we will have some dinner, dancing and singing Berber songs .
DAY 3: MERZOUGA - ALNIF - AGDEZ - OUARZAZARTE - AIT BENHADDOU (235 km)

In the morning, we recommend getting up before dawn to climb the big dune and watch the sunrise over the horizon. After breakfast we will return to the Auberge on our dromedaries.

In addition, we will also visit the palm grove of Tafilalet through Rissani. We will have a lunch break in Alnif before heading towards Tazarine Oasis, N’kob and the Draa Valley. Next, we will visit Ouarzazate stopping at Berber villages and towns like Agdez and the High Atlas Mountains at a altitude of 1660 meters high.

Finally, our last stop on this day, is the famous Kasbah of Ait benhadou the UNESCO site classified since 1987, as a World Heritage Site, where few families are still living in Ait Benhaddou, where several American movies have been filmed as “The Gladiator”, “Asterix and Obelix”….
DAY 4: AIT BENHADDOU - MARRAKECH (190 km)

Early rise and breakfast to hit the road towards Telouet Kasbah, which now stands in ruins. We will cross the mountainous chain of the High Atlas through the Tizi-n-Tichka, the highest narrow path in the country. Arrival in Marrakech, where your adventure ends with us.
